World of Warcraft Mage Guide

Mages are one of the most powerful damage dealers in the World of Warcraft. All three of their talents specs are meant for dealing damage. A mage can choose from Arcane, Fire, and Frost. This World of Warcraft mage guide will help you make your choice of specs and fill you in on what a mage can do. Sometimes people refer to mages as glass cannons. They are called this because they do incredible damage but are vulnerable. Mages are limited to wearing cloth armor. The weapons that are wielded by a mage are only for the stats that they provide. Nevertheless, the explosive magical ability of a mage makes up for all of the weaknesses. Read on to learn how to take advantage of your magical prowess and make your enemies cower in fear.

The utility spells of a mage include the ability to create portals to major cities for yourself and your allies, the ability to summon and endless amount of food and drink, turning invisible, and turning the enemy into a sheep and making them unable to take part in combat. Next up, this World of Warcraft Mage Guide is going to explain the three different talent trees and what each one can do.

World of Warcraft Mage guide to talent trees:

Arcane

Arcane magic uses concentrated energies to deal high damage to foes. Arcane magic is powerful and is difficult to resist. Some enemies may have resistance to fire or frost magic but arcane magic will not be affected by these resistances. Most of the mage’s non-damage spells are classified as arcane. These spells include, polymorph, summon food, summon water, slow, teleports, portals, and more. Most mages choose to spec as arcane for high end raiding because of the high damage and mobility in boss fights.

Fire

Another good choice for dealing high damage in raids is the fire spec. This spec relies more on critical strikes for dealing its damage than arcane or frost do. Because of this, fire mages can be very burst at times and can deal ncredible
damage with a little luck. A few key fire spells are fireball, dragon’s breath, living bomb, and pyroblast.

Frost

Frost is known as a very strong spec for player vs player (Pvp) combat. This spec does not do as much damage as the other two specs but in exchange, a frost mage gains an enormous degree of control and survivability. Frost mages can slow down the run speed of their enemies and also root them in place. Ice barrier is a frost skill that absorbs damage instead of taking the mages hit points. Most people will tell you that frost is also the best spec to level with.

As you can see, a glass cannon has enough versatility to make it a very dangerous weapon. Remember that a mage is one of the classes that can deal the highest damage in the game. I hope you enjoyed this World of Warcraft mage guide and it helps you to pick the best class to play. See you next time.
