WoW Vanity Pet part 2
This is page 2 of our WoW Vanity pet guide. For page 1, see WoW Vanity Pets article
My next stop, dungeon pets. To be exact, the Smolderweb Hatchling and Worg Pup. Both can be obtained from Kibler’s quests, which you can get in Burning Steppes. After a quick dungeon run (if you’re high level) you’ll return the quests and have two brand new pets and hopefully an achievement from running thorough. Not to mention drops and cash. It’s worth it.
Our total is up to 14 pets for Horde and 15 pets for Alliance now. By now the Alliance have gotten their achievement for 15 pets. So where do we go to find more companions next?

Let’s move on to the more out there pets to obtain. This requires timing and planning, sort of. I speak of the Darkmoon Faire pets. All three are frogs. First two are from the vendor Flik. He’s a bit hard to catch as he runs around trying to catch his own pet frog. The Tree Frog and Wood Frog are both 1g each. The last frog requires Dark Ale Mugs (You’ll need 3). Along the outskirt of the Faire you’ll find a red and blue frog called Jub Jub. Not far from him you’ll find Morja the Orc. Find a half way point between Jub Jub and Morja and toss down a Dark Iron Mug. Jub jub will then hop toward it. As he does drop another at Morja’s feet. She’ll pop up with a quest. Accept the quest and give her a Dark Iron Ale. In return she’ll give you a Jub Jub egg.
17 Pets (and an achievement) for the Horde and 18 Pets for Alliance.
Westfall/Brill Chicken. This is probably the funniest hidden pet I’ve ever gotten. To get this pet you go to Westfall(Alliance) or Brill (Horde) and find a chicken. Now macros make this a lot easier but some people just type it out. To make a macro simply type /m and enter. A little window will pop up. Create your macro with /cluck as the command. Any picture will do. Make sure to drag a copy of your macro over to your action bar. Made that mistake first time myself. Now target the chicken of your choice, any will do, and cluck like crazy. Your select chicken will turn from yellow letters to green. Woot! A quest! Get your quest and follow it carefully. Once done, you’ll have a new pet chicken.
18(Horde)/19(Alliance)
Mechanical Chicken can be obtained by doing several quests. Sadly it’s a long process and far to long to explain here. I strongly recommend Wowhead.com to help explain it better.
19(Horde)/20(Alliance)
There are several pets that can be obtained from Orphan Week. Peanut, Willy, Curious Oracle Hatchling, Curious Wolvar Hatchling, Egbert, Mr.Wiggles, Speedy and Whiskers. Orphan Week is in May. You can only obtain 1 each year. The quest starts by either visiting your faction’s home city (Orgrimmar/Stormwind), visiting Shattrath or Dalaran and picking up your orphan. After running around and sight seeing you will return your orphan to their home. Your orphan will then send you a pet in the mail.
20(Horde)/21(Alliance)
Miniwing is fairly simple. You travel to Terokkar Forest at 55,72. You’ll see a blue bird called Skywing. Complete the escort quest and you’ll get your very own Miniwing. To get your Sprite Darter Hatchling you’ll need to travel to Feralas. For Horde it’s easier to obtain this pet. You just kill a bunch of Sprite Darters. The drop is roughly 1 in 100. For Alliance you’ll need to find Jer’Kai Moonweaver. She can be found at 66, 45. On a ledge over looking a small Tauren village. Complete the mass amount of quests and you’ll have your Sprite Darter Hatchling. I personally have done both ways and the killing is faster.
22(Horde)/23(Alliance)
Two pets can be obtained from Brewfest. Wolpertinger is from the quest ‘Catch the Wolpertinger’. The other is Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderm which is bought with 100 Brewfest Prize Tokens.
24(Horde)/25(Alliance)
To the mechanical pets! Lifelike Toad, Mechanical Squirrel and Tranquil Mechanical Yeti can be learned by anyone. Usually bought off the Auction House or from a friend Engineer. Lil’Smoky and Pet Bombling can only be learned by Engineers. A good thing about these last two is that if you decide to drop Engineering you’ll still be able to summon the pets.
27(Horde)/28(Alliance)
Engineering will have 29(Horde)/31(Alliance)
I think this is a good place to stop for now. By now you’ve gotten a lot of pets and 3 achievements. Next installment we’ll go over more pets and how to get them. Also we’ll reach a couple more achievements and pets for getting those achievements! Happy Pet Hunting!
